About NeoVictoria’s Exhibit
This year our build is a Steampunk-styled cinema, the lower level is open so folks who walk by can see information about the kinds of creatures who live in our storyworld, and the upper-level is the cinema itself, streaming five of the many machinima-movies we’ve made over the years.
The NeoVictoria Project, with its live action simulation on the Second Life platform, is a unique dark roleplay environment crafted with a Steampunk aesthetic. The goal of the project is to create a self-sustaining cycle where roleplay becomes filmed story.
We’re So Pleased to be Included in SLB13!
Every year, players in Second Life get together to celebrate its birthday: this year, Second Life is thirteen years old and the celebration begins on Sunday, 19 June 2016.
The NeoVictoria Project is honored to be included in the official celebration. Please visit us on SL13B Electrify, click the link for the SLUrl to our parcel!

TIPS on STREAMING MEDIA-on-a-PRIM
Our movies are streaming into SecondLife using media-on-a-prim (MoaP). To see them, you’ll need to turn media on!
In the SL viewer:
from the top-menu drop-down it’s: ME > Preferences > Sound & Media (tab) > [check] Media to Enabled.
On FireStorm it’s:
Avatar > Preferences > Media (tab) > [check] Allow Media to Auto-Play.
Both viewers have a master-control in the upper-right corner of the screen; look for the speaker or musical-note icon to review those. Recommended setting is to only play the media within the parcel.
Some viewers have issues with MoaP, so you can always tap the far-right icon in the prim’s control bar & open the URL in your browser.
Here’s a link to a helpful URL if you want to learn more.
IMPORTANT TIP ABOUT SEEING STUFF
There is a bug in the SLv3 viewer that causes some prims not to rez. Here are three workarounds:
Toggle Wireframe View
Enable the Developer menu (Preferences > Advanced > Show Developer Menu or CTRL+ALT+Q), then hit CTRL+SHIFT+R to enable wireframe & hit it again to go back. Magic! All the prims are now visible.
Adjust Your Windlight Setting
The setting is windlightUseAtmosShaders. Set it from False to True. [To get at the DEBUG settings its Advanced > Show Debug Settings, then type “windlightUseAtmosShaders” to get to the control.]
Give Sclupts and Mesh the Right Number
The setting is rendervolumeLODFactor. Set it from 1.12 to at least 6.00; the higher this number, the better sclupts will look. [To get at the DEBUG settings its Advanced > Show Debug Settings, then type “windlightUseAtmosShaders” to get to the control.]
WHAT A VIEWER?
Sometimes called the viewer or the client, this is the software that you installed on your computer so you could log into Second Life.
Not sure what viewer you’re using? Go to HELP from the top menu and click on “About SecondLife”. That will open a window advising what viewer (or client) you’re currently running on your computer.
The Lab offers several different viewers folks can us to connect to the grid. See http://secondlife.com/support/downloads/
There are also many third-party developers that make viewers people can use. Here’s a URL that explains it: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alternate_Viewers
