Out-of-character (OOC) conduct is a series of interactions between players, as distinguished from their characters. We do an assortment of OOC events in NeoVictoria, including classes, meetings and parties.
Every year, players in Second Life get together to celebrate its birthday: this year, Second Life is twelve years old and the celebration begins on 21 June 2015.
The NeoVictoria Project is honored to be included in the official celebration. Please visit us on SL12B Wonderous, click the link for the SLUrl to our parcel!
About NeoVictoria’s Exhibit
The NeoVictoria Project with its live action simulation on the Second Life platform is a unique dark roleplay environment crafted with a Steampunk aesthetic. The goal of the project is to create a self-sustaining cycle where roleplay becomes filmed story.
The build is based on a plot from our roleplay. Miss Ticka, the proprietress of the tavern, has sent her magic portrait of the Sidhe queen back to Old Earth for servicing. During transport, negligent portal imps dropped its crate from their dirigible. It crashed to ground, along with a crate of mirrors and books; now the magic has escaped, causing the land to lift and the mirrors to capture some of the recordings the portrait had made.
Credits: Fianah Mistwood built the set. Asil Ares and Crosswired Deanimator created some of the textures. Fianah Mistwood made “{BHC} The Queens Mirror” gift. myomy Resident and Jhaesoph Foxdale made the “NeoVictoria Greeting HUD SL12B Edition FP” gift.
Historical Hunts, Ltd. presents STEAM X. Steam: The Dream. 1-31 March 2015
The only Victorian Steampunk-themed grid-wide hunt in SecondLife is produced by Historical Hunts. This is our fifth year contributing and this year we’re stop 95.
We always do a mini-hunt: this one may be the best one ever!
We have nine gifts staged throughout our Visitor’s Center on the skylevel of NeoVictoria SIM.
Our skylevel is always out-of-character (OOC), so hunters won’t disrupt the roleplay.
Here’s the list:
2015 Souvenir Calendar
Dreaming of Steam Orb
Prison Sphere ~ Sidhe Trap
NeoVictoria’s Steamy Dreamboat
Prison Sphere ~ Nyx Trap
NeoVictoria’s Steamy Dreamboat ~ Pirate Edition

Every year, we do a commemorative calendar for the Steam Hunt that fits its theme. This year’s is packed with dreamy images from our Steampunk storyworld. This mesmerizing prop contains a simple meditation sit, perfect for the conjurer, dreaming worlds.Magical traps to keep the fae at bay; one for the Sidhe, one for the Nyx and one for the Loam. The trick is getting them into the traps …but that is for you to roleplay. This charming vessel can roam the land or the seas! Rezz, then sit. The avatar on the chest at back drives, but there are sits for all, including a tiny sit on the treasure chest. This pirate vessel can roam the land or the seas! Rezz, then sit. The avatar on the chest at back drives, but there are sits for all, including a tiny sit on the treasure chest. In the NeoVictoria storyworld, magic and technology come together to serve the needs of the citizenry. Rather than harnessing the powers of oil or the atom, they have devised a way to capture the essence of a creature (some might call it the spirit or soul) to use as an energy source. Here in this covered seat, a captive soul within a crystal container is used to make light in the covering above the seat.Welcome to the NeoVictoria Steam X Drinking and Toast HUD! This device was initially made as a roleplay aid, but can also be used to easily animate your avatar while holding unscripted drinks! Includes an unscripted, modifiable mesh wine glass!
Credits: As always, the items were built by members of our community. Thanks to Tarquin Evermore for the boats and the dream orb; to Vic Titanium for the scripts that drive the boats; to QuarkZen for the covered seat; to OhDearMe and Jhaesoph Foxdale for the HUD; to Asil Ares for the traps and calendar; and to Myomy for the mesh wine glass. Special mention to MadMechaMessiah & DarlaDoll for crafting the hints!
The votes were counted and it was time to toast the winners of the photo contest. Xi spun fabulous tunes and Asil showered the winners with Lindens and love. Plus, all who attended received a souvenir 2015 calendar featuring the winning photos.

About the Roleplay: In NeoVictoria, we do free-form dark roleplay. Free-form means there is no script; scenes evolve out of real-time character interactions. Dark roleplay means that characters often act in aggressive, predatory, criminal and/or plain uncomfortable ways. We use a simple dice-based wearable HUD called the Jade Kreations Role Play Tool Suite; avatars must wear this to see roleplay chat. The item is free and available in the out-of-character skymall.
Players do not have to be a member of our group to roleplay here; we ask newcomers take a tour of the Visitor Center in NeoVictoria SIM to learn about the storyworld before joining in the roleplay.
[Observer tags are also available for players who want to visit the land level, but not roleplay.]
About Our Storyworld: in the Neo’Verse, the Sidhe (fae) never faded, but worked with … some would say ruled over …their human charges until the Sidhe Empire spanned the known universe. So many races exist: faeries, demons and clockwerk constructs (powered by gears and magic), humans, vampires, werebeasts and celestials. All held against the ravages of time by magic, intrigue and human ingenuity.
Planet NeoVictoria (where our characters play) is a small planet, nestled in the VICO III galaxy, its citizenry cling to the land and sky, for its vast oceans are home to forces that do not heed the crown. But some are loyal to the Sidhe queen who sits on her throne billions of light-years away. Alexandrina Victoria Tuatha Dé Danann, Queen of Earth, Empress of the Void: one tap of her tiny foot on the Stone of Scone sets the worlds to shake. It’s 2130 and Pax Britannica has held sway for more than three thousand years.
We had a really fun Halloween costume bash Friday night (31 October) to celebrate one of our favorite real life holidays. Replete with live DJs and costume competitions, it was three hours of fun and tunes at the skyclub in Machinima SIM.
